4th Oldest Restaurant in Phoenix Celebrates Milestone Anniversary, Perseveres after Hard-Hit Year

Miracle Mile Deli, at 16th Street and Camelback in Central Phoenix, has bucked trends and kept its doors open for 72 years and celebrating on May 10, 2021!

PHOENIX, AZ, USA, May 1, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ — Miracle Mile Deli, at 16th Street and Camelback in Central Phoenix, has miraculously bucked trends and kept its doors open for 72 years. May 10, 2021 marks the family-owned and operated restaurant’s monumental anniversary.

After seven decades, Miracle Mile Deli has far outlasted the average restaurant’s life span.

According to a study by Perry Group International, roughly 90 percent of independent restaurant establishments shut down during the first year of operation. 70 percent of restaurants that make it past the first year, close their doors in the next three to five years. Research shows, many restaurants, particularly independent establishments, fail during their first year because they are undercapitalized and underprepared for business challenges that typically come with running a food service business.

“Last year was a very challenging time for nearly all businesses in the U.S. However, restaurants – specifically family-owned establishments – may have taken the largest brunt of the economic downturn brought on by COVID-19,” said Josh Garcia, Vice President of Miracle Mile Deli. “For many restaurants, the pandemic may end up being the tipping point for closing the doors for good, but thankfully we are persevering and optimistic about the years ahead.”

Garcia is a third-generation owner of his family’s restaurant. Miracle Mile Deli was founded by Garcia’s grandfather, Jack Grodzinsky in 1949. The historic Valley restaurant prides itself on being an integral part of the community, treating customers like family and serving the best pastrami sandwiches in the Southwest. The New York-style delicatessen has been recognized for its award-winning pastrami sandwiches, brisket of beef sandwiches, corned beef sandwiches and other East Coast delicacies.

“After 72 years, we know there are going to be bumps in the road. Thankfully, there is a light at the end of the tunnel and for the first time in over a year we are starting to see sales pick up,” added Garcia. “While we are still in survival mode and not yet thriving, we have been able to keep nearly all of our staff employed during this very rough year and for that, we are extremely proud.”

To celebrate 72 years in business:

· Monday, May 10 is Miracle Mile Deli Day where all sandwiches will be $11.00 all-day (except the Triple Decker and Jax Special.) The restaurant will also give away $100.00 gift cards every hour from 12p-7p.

· In May and June, to honor moms, dads, grads, and teachers, buy $100 in Miracle Mile Deli gift cards and choose a bonus gift card free from the board. Bonus gift card are valued at anywhere from $20-$100.

Additionally, a portion of the proceeds from Miracle Mile Deli Day will be donated to another Valley staple, The Phoenix Theatre Company. The 101-year-old theatre is the oldest arts and entertainment venue in the Valley.

During the pandemic, Miracle Mile Deli continued to support the local community, including raising more than $5,000 to feed first responders and contributing to the Happily Ever After League (HEAL) food pantry with monthly supplies needed to feed 50 plus families of women battling cancer.

Tesla Car Share Program Expands Services to Flagstaff/Phoenix for Personal, Business Travel in Arizona

Too Close To Fly, Too Far to Uber

Unlike typical rideshares that focus on short distances Falcon Line helps travelers move further distances Tesla-style, minimizing costs, stress, inconvenience.

PHOENIX, ARIZONA, USA, May 1, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ — Arizonans are often faced with a hurdle when traveling between Phoenix and Flagstaff because it’s too close to fly, but too far to use a traditional rideshare company like Uber. A new service unlike anything else in the U.S. just launched in Phoenix to address this challenge. Starting May 6, Arizonans will be able to travel seamlessly from Phoenix to Flagstaff thanks to an innovative new premium corridor travel solution called Falcon Line.

Unlike typical rideshare companies that focus on short distances in metropolitan areas, Falcon Line is helping travelers move further distances – customarily between 75-200 miles – in Tesla-style, minimizing costs, stress and inconvenience. This type of travel is coining a term called “corridor travel.”

“Flying between Phoenix and Flagstaff is expensive and inconvenient; using a bus or shuttle service is less expensive, but the experience is pretty undesirable and driving yourself on the I-17 for two or more hours is unproductive and frankly stressful. That’s where Falcon Line comes into play,” said Michael Puhala, Falcon Line CEO and founder. “Last month we rolled out the premium corridor travel service from Phoenix to Tucson with great customer feedback and now we are adding Phoenix to Flagstaff to our offerings.”

Falcon Line offers fully electric, premium, business class service from point A to point B with professional drivers in a fleet of Tesla Model X vehicles. Passengers can book a single seat or reserve the entire car for their journey. To make sure there is no lapse in productivity, cars are equipped with retractable desks in the back seats, 5G Wi-Fi, and more amenities to make personal and business travel smooth.

“Today’s travelers want a consistent experience that is safe, convenient and mindful,” said Puhala. “Falcon Line was born with this consumer in mind. Plus, not only does Tesla provide a gold standard luxury travel experience, it is an electric car that’s better for the environment, and as an added benefit, can use the HOV lane during high traffic times.”

Booking a ride is simple. Travelers can schedule one-way or roundtrip travel online at www.ridefalcon.com. Fares range from $100 for a single seat to $250 for the whole car. Reservations are arranged in advance to assure accommodations can be met. Subscription services will be available for frequent passengers who travel often between Falcon Line metropolitan areas. Phoenix to Flagstaff trips will run limited options Thursday to Sunday initially, with an option to expand later in the year.

There are two pickup and drop-off location in Flagstaff at Forrest Highlands and the Marriot Courtyard. Additionally, there are two pickup and drop-off locations in Phoenix including one in North Central Scottsdale and a second near Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. When travelers book a seat, it's point to point drop off. If travelers book the entire car, they will get an added benefit of door-to-door service.

Travelers can also breathe easy as they travel in style knowing the Tesla Model X vehicles have an advanced air purifying system and the vehicles are sanitized after each trip, allowing travelers to feel safer than flying or sitting in a passenger van in the COVID-19 era.

Falcon Line’s program provides users a premium travel service in parts of the U.S. where there are no premium corridor travel options. Falcon Line has identified 32 additional corridors across the U.S. for potential expansion in 2021 including Austin, San Antonio, Dallas and Houston, Texas. The company’s goals include expanding to 10 corridors by the end of next year and 25 corridors in the next five years. Philippines Pavilion brings an ensemble of Filipino talents in symphony of art, architecture, and a 4,000-year story

“Our Gift to the World” – a five-minute film produced by BBDO Guerrero for the Philippines Expo 2020 Dubai

A day exterior photo of the Philippines pavilion, “Bangkóta” at the Expo 2020 Dubai

DUBAI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES, May 1, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ —

• Visitors at the Philippines ‘Bangkóta’ Pavilion will witness the collaboration of finest Filipino talents and artists in visual and performing arts, digital media, and other forms of new media

• A five-minute film “Our Gift to the World” stages original contemporary dance and musical experience of Filipino ancestral cultures, communicating updated science about the Philippines and its people

• Bangkóta’s “Our Gift to the World” communicates the fusion of 65,000 years of human interaction and the 4,000-year story of a water-oriented culture that shaped the Filipinos

Creating excitement for its participation in the much-anticipated Expo 2020 Dubai, the Philippines ‘Bangkóta’ Pavilion displays a cross-generational collaboration of select finest Filipino talents in a variety of artistic facets – visual and performing arts, digital media, and other forms of new media – including an original production entitled: “Our Gift to the World.”

Led by the Philippine Department of Trade and Industry (PDTI), the Philippines marks its participation to the Expo with a range of creative sectors. “Our Gift to the World” is among the artistic expressions in the Bangkóta Pavilion’s interior spaces projected on a 180-degree immersive surface.

The five-minute multi-media narrative articulates the fusion of the 65,000-year human interaction in the Philippine archipelago and the 4,000 years of water-oriented culture that shaped the Filipino identity of hyperconnectivity.

The task of creating the five-minute film was given to multi-awarded Filipino creative agency BBDO Guerrero, also known for the “It’s more fun in the Philippines” tourism campaign, after a competitive pitch. The film’s overall direction was provided by Bangkóta’s independent curator Marian Pastor Roces and Architect Royal Pineda, under the guidance of PDTI Assistant Secretary and Philippines @ Expo 2020 Dubai Alternate Commissioner General Rosvi Gaetos.

The creative team, led by its chairman David Guerrero, worked remotely across continents with a carefully selected ensemble of performing, visual and digital artists to mount the stunning display.

Among them is Filipino veteran choreographer Denisa Reyes, former Artistic Director of Ballet Philippines and noted composer and sound artist Teresa Barrozo, together with Korean director Jae Hyung Wang, known for his spectacular work in computer graphics, and Pixel Box, a production house based in Hong Kong.

The digital creation gathers Philippine motifs of cultural identity and interconnectivity, bringing together a mix of breathtaking, imaginative reflections of scientific and humanistic data about the Philippines and its people. It is poetically expressed through contemporary dance performed and choreographed by seasoned Filipino talents led by Reyes.

Reyes is assisted by co-choreographer and dancer JM Cabling, a full generation her junior. Along with dancers Angella Betina Carlos, Minette Caryl Maza, Michael Barry Que, and JM Cabling, they contribute a continuity of interest in Philippine motifs in dance.

Meanwhile, another set of Filipino performing artists will take centerstage during the Philippine National Day at the Expo 2020 Dubai on 11th of February 2022 – a full festivity of Philippine dance and music.

Nestor Jardin, former President and Artistic Director of the Cultural Center of the Philippines, guided the conceptualisation of the programme by Silang Communications, headed by renowned actor and stage director Bart Guingona. The programme “reflects the soul” of Filipinos—a re-imagination of corals, forests, fauna, and movement—through a cultural show interpreted for a global audience.

Production, technical, and graphics design for the programme will be crafted by visual artist Leeroy New, graphic artist Steven Tansiongco, and technical director Meliton Roxas Jr. Meanwhile, musical composition and direction will be a collaboration among sounds engineer Rards Corpus, composer Ejay Yatco, and vocal director Krina Cayabyab, with the choreographic supervision of JM Cabling.

The PDTI also commissioned Filipino talents in other creative industries, spanning from architecture, design and crafts, visual arts and performing arts, to film, animation and software development, including gastronomy, media and publication, to represent the Philippines at the Expo 2020 Dubai.

The Expo 2020 Dubai will open from October 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022.
