Beard and Stache Fest Coming to Gatlinburg on June 12th

The Smoky Mountain Beard & Stache Fest

The Smoky Mountain Beard & Stache Fest promises to be an event to remember.

Gather Up Events and Honest Amish will be hosting the inaugural Smoky Mountain Beard and Stache Fest on June 12 (12pm-7pm) at the Gatlinburg Convention Center.

GATLINBURG, TENNESSEE, USA, June 1, 2021 / — Men and women everywhere love facial hair. Whether you sport a natural mountain beard, a trimmed goatee or an elegantly styled European cut, you’ll find your niche at this unique festival.

Created by the Tennessee-based company Gather Up Events, the Smoky Mountain Beard and Stache Fest was made to provide a welcoming environment where people with similar interests in facial hair can enjoy one another’s unique styles in one place. Throughout the event, several exciting contests are taking place to determine the winners from a variety of fields such as Best Overall Beard, Best Natural Beard, Best European Mustache, Best Goatee, and countless others entertainment categories. The contests are open to both men and women, with a “Unique Beards” category added in for artistic, unusual facial hair, real or artificial.

In addition to the food, beverage, and beer vendors, dozens of local crafters and artisans will be there selling beard care products, beard art, and facial hair apparel.

The decision to host the Beard and Stache Fest in Gatlinburg, the literal heart of the Smoky Mountains, was no accident. Bearded men (and women) are often imagined in outdoor settings, swinging axes, cooking over a fire and living off the land. Attendants will do just that as they breathe in the fresh mountain air of the Smokies wafting through their beards and appreciate not only the event itself, but its beautiful location.

Tickets cost $10 per person and can be purchased online at For any bearded or mustachioed attendant who’d like an even better deal, a $25 option is available while supplies last that provide an event T-shirt in addition to general admission. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the American Eagle Foundation who plans to be present the day of the event to support and educate with a live bald eagle.

The Smoky Mountain Beard and Stache Fest are located at 234 Historic Nature Trail Gatlinburg, TN.

The mountains are calling. Will you answer the call of the wild?

WHINO Opens in Ballston Quarter Bringing A Unique Experience of Restaurant & Art Gallery to Arlington

Whino interior painting

ARLINGTON, VA, UNITED STATES, June 1, 2021 / — Shane Pomajambo is pleased to announce the June 18, 2021, opening of WHINO, a 6,200-square-foot restaurant, combined with an art gallery on the second floor of the new Ballston Quarter at 4238 Wilson Boulevard in Arlington, Virginia. This modern open concept venue invites patron to inhabit large-scale mural installations while enjoying craft cocktails, beer, wine and globally inspired social plates. WHINO will sport exposed black steel high ceilings, creating a loft like experience. The combination of design elements will provide a fun and refined destination for socializing and dining.

Pomajambo’s firm, Moderne Design Inc. of Great Falls, Virginia created the expansive restaurant/gallery’s dynamic interior. Guests will enjoy WHINO’s open floor plan housing six unique areas, including a 25-seat open kitchen bar; 51-foot craft cocktail bar and a beverage tasting bar which can accommodate 11 guests for tastings. To allow the space to flow openly yet be clearly defined, artists were chosen to create full immersion murals. The works of art give each area its own distinctive character and invite diners to become part of the scene.

Having earned a Master of Architecture degree, while also curating lowbrow/pop surrealist art and nationwide mural installations, former New Yorker Pomajambo enjoys a large following for his popular art gallery, Art Whino. For 15 years, Art Whino has been an active member of the Washington, D.C. art scene. Pomajambo has produced large-scale events at Art Basel in Miami, New York’s Comic Con, as well as the Richmond Mural Project, Austin Art Show, Heineken Mural Project in Atlanta, and G40 Art Summit. Art Whino is now transitioning to WHINO, combining Pomajambo’s passion for art with his appreciation for entertaining around exception food and drink.

On January 2019, Shane Pomajambo tapped Eleftherios (Terry) Natas as executive chef of WHINO in Ballston Quarter. Chef Natas is a New Jersey born Greek American, with over 25 years of culinary experience. His culinary background includes hotel and casino restaurants in the Bahamas and Atlantic City, as well as a more recent position with Richard Sandoval Hospitality’s El Centro D.F. Here he served as the regional chef for Sandoval’s concept, conducting research and development for El Centro’s menu. Natas also worked for Alicart restaurant group in New York at both Carmine’s and Virgil’s BBQ, and at Mike Isabella Restaurant, Graffiato, in Washington, D.C.

The sharable small plates concept developed for WHINO reinforces the social environment of a restaurant/gallery concept. WHINO’s opening menu focuses on a mix of modern dishes that meld American and international flavors and ingredients. The restaurant’s seasonal, globally driven menu spotlights distinctive dishes that vary with items such as Smoked Octopus with harissa chickpea purée, smoked salt; Prime Dry Aged Beef, with polenta fries, charred endive, and salsa verde; Handmade Ricotta Gnocchi with seasonal vegetables, saffron vegetable brodo, grana Padano, toasted hazelnuts, and Scallop Aguachile, Cape May day boat scallops, tomatillo salsa, serrano, cucumber, black radish, finger lime, and micro cilantro.

Natas also plays on the classics with his homemade “Gyro,” a house-blend beef & lamb, Greek spices, whipped feta & leek yogurt, tomato & cucumber relish, pickled red onion, wrapped in his mother’s famous phyllo called Telly’s Gyro, from the nickname his mother and sisters bestowed upon him. His Porchetta Sliders with fennel & rosemary rubbed pork loin wrapped in crispy skin pork belly, shaved fennel & orange slaw, grilled ciabatta, with Shane’s “secret sauce,” developed by WHINO owner, Shane Pomajambo at his epic barbecues, is certain to be a crowd favorite.

“The menu is designed to encourage exploration as small plates afford guests the opportunity to experience more flavor profiles,” states owner, Shane Pomajambo. “In the coming months, we also plan to offer curated beverage tasting events, monthly art shows and collectible art releases, with items available for purchase at WHINO. To keep things fresh, exhibits will change monthly, and the large murals will rotate, as they will be painted over yearly.”

WHINO’s mural installations focus on a new art movement commonly referred to as lowbrow/pop surrealist art, encompassing over 12 genres. From muralism, street art, illustration art and fine art, there is something for everyone to experience. Although it spans a multiple of disciplines, the collections share the theme of pop culture or a reaction to the current vibe better known by the name pop surrealism. The movement arose in the Los Angeles, California area in the mid 90’s from the skate culture with references to underground comix, punk music, and hot-rod cultures of the street. Most lowbrow artworks are paintings, but there are also toys, digital art, and sculpture.

The curation of art shows at WHINO will launch with a stable of artists who have worked closely with Pomajambo for the last 14 years such as Woes and Caratoes. WHINO will also be showcasing new artists, who are rising stars such as Dragon76, who recently finished a mural at the United Nations this year. Furthermore, art sculptures of collectibles from around the world will be available for purchase at WHINO. These limited-edition pieces vary in size from eight to 24 inches and prices will range from $50 to $300. New inventory will be released each month as the limited editions sell out at WHINO.

For more information about the June opening of WHINO, visit Hours of operation are as follows: Monday through Wednesday, from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m., Thursday and Friday, from 3 p.m. to 2 a.m., Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. and Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Daily, 24-hour parking is available in the Ballston public parking garage which is located at 627 N. Glebe Road. There is also abundant street parking along Wilson Blvd.

Azerbaijan confirms travel arrangements for Euro 2020 fans

Today, AFFA announces that all home nation fans travelling to UEFA Euro 2020 will be exempt from quarantine upon arrival.

BAKU, AZERBAIJAN, June 1, 2021 / — Today, the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan (AFFA), having considered the appropriate stance to take during the pandemic, announces that all home nation fans travelling to its host fixtures in UEFA Euro 2020 will be exempt from quarantine upon arrival.

As part of a multi-nation format devised by UEFA to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the tournament, Baku is proud to be hosting four games at Euro 2020: Wales vs Switzerland (Saturday 12 June, 15:00), Turkey vs Wales (Wednesday 16 June ,18:00), Switzerland vs Turkey (Sunday 20 June, 18:00) and Quarter Final 3 (Saturday 3 July, 18:00).

All ticketholders who are citizens of Turkey, Switzerland and the UK, plus the quarter-finalist countries, will be able to obtain a visa either upon arrival at Baku airport or on Azerbaijan’s online e-visa platform. Standard visas are available online within three business days but if necessary, an urgent visa can be obtained in three to five hours. All fans are urged to comply with their respective national travel guidelines. The person must also submit a match ticket at the state borders while entering Azerbaijan.

Upon presenting their ticket at the border and proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test result (not older than 48 hours), fans will be granted a quarantine exemption and can move around the country freely. No further tests will be required to attend the stadium on match days.

Azerbaijan currently has a low rate of Covid-19 infections, with cases haven fallen 75% from the peak of the pandemic and a robust vaccination programme underway. AFFA believes that restricting access only to ticketholders with a recent Covid-19 test in this way is a prudent and safe measure.

Upon arriving in Baku, fans can look forward to safely discovering the wide range of vibrant hospitality which the city has to offer, and all bars, restaurants and hotels are open for business. The city boasts an abundance of outdoor space and restrictions such as masks in indoor public spaces are in force. The stadium will be at 50% capacity to aid social distancing and the decision has been taken not to create fan zones in order to prevent crowds gathering in close proximity.

Elkhan Mammadov, Executive Vice President, AFFA, said:

“We are excited to welcome fans from the nations involved in our Euro 2020 host fixtures and have made a sensible plan to ensure those who wish to come can enjoy Baku, confident of a safe experience in our wonderful city. Baku has been gearing up for months for this once in-a-lifetime showcase and I know everybody involved is committed to ensuring this a truly unforgettable celebration of football. We look forward to fans joining these celebrations in the coming weeks.”

Global Hospitality Sector Set for Rapid Revival Across The Year, As Per TBRC’s Global Market Model

Hospitality Market Report 2021: COVID-19 Impact And Recovery To 2030

Hospitality Global Market Report 2021: COVID-19 Impact And Recovery To 2030

Hospitality Market Report 2021: COVID-19 Impact And Recovery To 2030

Hospitality Market By Region 2020

Global Market Model Forecasts Significant Rebound in the Hospitality Sector In 2021

LONDON, GREATER LONDON, UK, June 1, 2021 / — According to macro market database, Global Market Model, the global hospitality sector is set for a rapid rebound in the second half of 2021. Greater safety, increasing consumer confidence, and reopening markets are set to be the primary drivers. North America and Asia will lead the way, with some European markets continuing to drag.

However, markets everywhere will remain well below their pre-COVID levels and are not expected to reach the same benchmarks until 2023 or later in most cases. Within the hospitality sector, it is hotels which have suffered the most and are expected to take the longest to recover.

The hospitality market has been one of the hardest hit by the global pandemic. Staying in hotels and eating in restaurants has been restricted or banned in most countries. Even in those countries such as the US, Brazil, and India, where governments have kept most venues open – fear, income insecurity and the collapse of tourism has led to drastic reductions in revenues.

The hospitality market size reached a peak in 2019 of $4.6 trillion. This declined by 25% in 2020 to $3.5 trillion according the GMM, a remarkable decline for any industry, more precipitous than those seen during any previous financial crisis. In terms of industries, the severity was matched only in transport services, which experienced an even faster decline during the same period.

The impact of COVID-19 has been fairly universal across geographies, with all regions seeing a decline in hospitality market revenues of more than 20% from 2019 to 2020. Africa, the Middle East, and South America saw the biggest falls with Asia slightly lower. This is because large parts of Asia avoided protracted nationwide outbreaks and lockdowns. The recovery is expected to be slightly steeper in the worst affected geographies, with South America forecasted to enjoy a 25% growth in revenues in 2021 as compared to 2020.

Hotels, hostels, and other non-residential accommodation sectors have been the most negatively affected by COVID-19, with a decline of nearly 30% in 2020. Food and beverage services have fared somewhat better with a 20% decline, supported by a boom in online food delivery services. Both markets are expected to rebound at a similar rate, meaning that the accommodation market will take longer to recover overall.

Global Market Model’s research shows that the hospitality sector has gone through a once in generation shock on a global scale. In a market which is always competitive and precarious, many businesses have closed during the pandemic. However, the appetite for eating, drinking, and holidaying remains strong, meaning a full recovery in the medium term is likely.

About The Global Market Model
The Global Market Model is the world’s most comprehensive database of integrated market information available. The ten-year forecasts in the Global Market Model are updated in real time to reflect the latest market realities, which is a huge advantage over static, report-based platforms.

Nonprofit Group Launches Business Pandemic Preparedness System

Press Conference June 1st, 2021, 11:00 am EST; the world needs pandemic preparedness, sustainability, and universal safe business practices.

We have to change the narrative. We need to take the politics out of our governance. We need to come together as a community if we are to be successful.”

— Steve Anderson

TORONTO, ONTARIO, CANADA, June 1, 2021 / — Over the past year, SmALL businesses have felt helpless, hopeless, unsupported, and confused. Witnessing the pain and challenges felt and faced by honest, hardworking people in our communities, it became very clear we MUST take action. This sparked the inception of the organization called Social Distance Management (SDM).

Edward Henry Company (EHCO) has made the decision to give away all licensing rights and intellectual property of SDM, which includes Social Distance Advisory (SDA), Social Distance Compliance (SDC) systems, and research to SmALL Business is Essential (SBE).

SDM believes that all businesses need universal compliance measures to operate safely during a pandemic and other unprecedented times. By having access to these practical systems, SBE will have the resources it needs to develop the support for all businesses. ALL businesses are essential, and business continuity is the focus. Any opportunities managed from these systems will help all businesses secure and implement adequate steps to stay open, thrive, and have their voices heard.

The Journey of Social Distance Management

In March of 2020, EHCO started SDM with a mission to stand by businesses. Two months later, on May 11, 2020, with extensive research, collaboration and data collection, they released their first version of universal compliance standards.

Under SDM, sub-resources, including SDA and SDC systems, were established to display universal compliance guidelines and assess the threat levels in specific areas to protect the population. The idea to start SDM came from the utmost care about people and businesses, not from a political approach. Universal health measures and the life of our economy are not two isolated conversations. It is ONE conversation.

To contribute to the information gathered, in July of 2020, a Research Internship was formed to discover and outline details on various businesses in Canada and the United States. The outcome of the research included details which contributed to SDC, such as further development of safety protocols, requirements for operation, compliance measures, capacity limits, and PPE requirements. SDM used the data collection to create additional tools, such as self-assessment audits that provide a checklist for what businesses need to stay compliant and operate safely.

Taking its cue from other systems such as ISO, Homeland Security, The World Health Organization, and research from John Hopkins University, SDM developed its Advisory system. This system was developed with the intent to assist businesses and communities in preparing for crises and mitigating restrictions. “There needs to be accountability to the decisions that are being made that affect our small businesses,” said President of EHCO, Edward Henry.

The Advisory system narrows in on the WHO’s Pandemic Phases and the Homeland Security system and uses five levels of risk and threat: low, moderate, substantial, severe, and critical. The colors associated include green, blue, yellow, orange, and red. Each phase clearly defines which business practices, products, and services are considered essential and non-essential and the types of businesses permitted to open during each phase. The Advisory system is currently in the process of implementing data from John Hopkins University, along with data collected by other reputable models.

Despite the aforementioned systems, resources, and extensive research to support our findings, ambiguous guidelines still remain. Therefore, businesses are left without genuine reasons as to why they cannot safely reopen and recover.

A Multi-faceted Problem Requires Innovative Solutions

Stand By SmALL Businesses and Our Communities

SmALL Business is Essential

After spending some time in the development phase, SDM ventured out and sought support from government officials and local politicians. After COUNTLESS meetings and constantly being redirected elsewhere, it was time to take drastic action. Edward Henry states, “Limited power is not an excuse for not doing the right thing.” This year has been about a lot of the wrong things, and in the beginning, SDM was seen as a profit-making opportunity, and taking advantage of a terrible situation. The lack of change cannot continue. Coming together as a collective unit is essential.

For sustainable change to happen, SDM’s resources need to be placed in the right hands. They need to be placed with an organization that isn’t narrow minded, but bilateral with its thinking so sectors, such as health and business can come together. SBE is a not-for-profit association that operates based on three core pillars: pandemic preparedness, sustainability, and safe business practices. SBE aims to collectively arm small businesses with the support, protection, and resources needed to operate safely while envisioning economic recovery and stability through business unity.

This pandemic is not just a small business problem; it’s a world problem. The government’s attempt to segregate businesses into non-essential and essential classifications created ambiguity. This ambiguity initiated the thought that, not some, but ALL businesses are essential. As EHCO releases all of its SDM systems, traffic, assessment, and auditing models to SBE, a new leadership position begins. SBE’s goals encompass the severity of the issue at hand, which is why there is no better person for the job than Steve Anderson. As a Social Entrepreneur, Olympic Gold Medal Coach, and Community Champion, Anderson takes over as President of the not-for-profit association SBE. Edward Henry states, “My choice to recruit Steve Anderson was because of his character, coaching background, competitive nature to overcome challenges, and his experience with a multi-faceted range of individuals.” Speaking to Anderson’s character, he doesn’t make excuses. Steve is a good man, and SBE needs his character to bring everyone together.

Along with Anderson’s motivating character, he is the first African American to coach an Olympic team in indoor or beach volleyball and the first to win an Olympic Gold Medal in either practice. Anderson is highly committed to being the driving force behind SBE to support ALL businesses. He, along with the efforts of SBE, will pave the way towards a better normal.

Our current actions reflect our future results. If we don’t continue putting in effort and showing our care for our businesses, we will continue losing pieces of our community and, in turn, our economy. Small businesses have experienced unfair measures and restrictions, putting them at risk for permanent closure. Continuous lockdowns are not a solution. “This current pandemic has cost over $20 trillion because we were not prepared,” said Edward Henry. The definition of insanity is to perform the same actions and expect different results. “We will do this over again if we don’t start changing the way we do things,” he added. The focus needs to be on Social Distance Compliance and universal protocols to preserve business continuity. If we want an improved normal, we need to stand by SmALL businesses and our communities. There is no better time than now to help businesses transition from lockdowns and longer than expected restrictions.

Extending Dealer Organization’s Global Reach

IADA’s involvement in the affairs of the European Business Aviation Association is an extension of IADA members’ global reach in aircraft sales transactions.”

— ADA Executive Director Wayne Starling

BRUSSELS, BELGIUM, June 1, 2021 / — The European Business Aviation Association (EBAA), based in Brussels, Belgium, has accepted the International Aircraft Dealers Association (IADA) as a full voting member. EBAA is the leading organization for operators of business aircraft in Europe.

“IADA’s involvement in the affairs of the European Business Aviation Association is an extension of IADA members’ global reach in aircraft sales transactions,” said IADA Executive Director Wayne Starling. “Several of our members are already active in the EBAA and have recommended IADA organizational involvement as part of our focus on international business aviation activities.”

EBAA advocates for policies that better the European business aviation sector on behalf of more than 700 member companies. EBAA represents corporate operators, commercial operators, manufacturers, airports, fixed-base operators, and more, with a total fleet of more than 1,000 aircraft.

IADA Extends Reach Beyond NBAA Activities

“IADA and its accredited aircraft dealers and verified products and services members have long been active in the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) in the United States,” said Starling. “This expansion to European activities through EBAA is a natural fit for the organization, as our members extend their scope to transactions throughout the continent as a truly global group dedicated to making aircraft deals more efficient, ethical and transparent,” he added.

The International Aircraft Dealers Association is the collective force influencing and shaping the aircraft transaction industry. With accredited dealers of all sizes, and dozens of verified Products and Services members skilled in aircraft transactions, IADA is the acknowledged leader in developing industry standards for efficient, effective and ethical business aircraft transactions.

Working for business aircraft owners globally, the International Aircraft Dealers Association provides a facility for professional standards, ethics and an exchange of information among its members and to the public for the purpose of creating a more efficient market, facilitating transactions and providing transparency in transactions, thereby increasing business aircraft ownership and usage worldwide.
