ATLIST Travel Now Integrates with FareHarbor

Hotels using the ATLIST Travel platform can now partner with 3,000+ activity providers to offer their guests local experiences and earn commissions.

NEW YORK, NEW YORK, UNITED STATES, December 2, 2020 / — In an effort to empower hotels to enhance the guest experience through partnerships with local activity providers, ATLIST Travel has integrated with the FareHarbor API. Now, in addition to selling their in-house amenities online, properties on the ATLIST platform can choose to work with local makers, activity providers, and tour operators in their area. By sharing a shoppable catalog of hand-picked services and activities with guests, properties can improve the guest experience as well as tap into a new source of ancillary revenue.

Through the integration, FareHarbor booking software is automatically synced to display real-time availability, allowing guests to reserve a date and time for their activity and check-out directly on a property’s guest experience page. Payments are collected online and commission splits between vendors and properties are handled automatically via ATLIST’s integration with Stripe Connect. Guests get instant gratification—they don’t have to track down hotel-recommended vendors and book all their activities. Hoteliers earn a commission for their recommendations. And local vendors get more eyeballs and more business.

It’s the hyper-local experiences that make our trips memorable—visiting an organic farm, buying a handwoven rug at a market, or taking a class with a knowledgeable chef. With this in mind, ATLIST aims to provide hotels with an easier way to connect their guests to authentic adventures. Now, instead of sending guests to disparate vendor websites, hotels can guide their guests within their property’s own branded online environment seamlessly. Automated scheduling reduces the back and forth over email that would typically ensue when coordinating itineraries for guests.

Due to its popularity among local activity providers in key vacation markets, FareHarbor is a strategic choice for ATLIST’s first integration with an online activity and tour operator booking software. From eco-tour operators like Kipu Ranch Adventures to knowledgeable guides like Spirit of Arizona, boutique activity providers prefer to use FareHarbor to power online reservations due to the ease of use and fair commission fees.

Founded in 2013, FareHarbor launched shortly after co-founder Zachary Hester and his brother Lawrence planned a family vacation to Hawaii. After finding it challenging to book activities online during their trip, they set out to create an online reservation system designed to empower tour operators competing with big box companies. Today, the Honolulu-based platform supports more than 3,000 activity providers, booking agents, and concierge desks in 50 states plus the British Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands.

About ATLIST Travel
ATLIST Travel is a web platform that helps independent properties (hotels, inns, bed & breakfasts, vacation rentals, and more) enhance the guest experience and maximize profit. ATLIST empowers property managers to digitize their activity concierge services through mobile-friendly web pages and automated online reservations. This puts guests in control of designing and upgrading their stay with ancillary services, special deals, and activities while increasing revenue and providing customer data to their hosts.

New ASTM International Standard continues the evolution of aviation safety and efficiency for both airlines and airports

Pilots on approach now have objective information about available braking friction on the runway

Aviation Safety Technologies is proud to confirm its runway friction measurement and reporting system complies with new ASTM International Standard E3266

The new standard embodies the march of progress as we evolve from subjective assessments of runway conditions to objective, science-based measurements.”

— Joe Vickers, CEO, Aviation Safety Technologies

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS, U.S.A., December 2, 2020 / — Chicago-based Aviation Safety Technologies (AST) is pleased to announce that the SafeLand™ Surface Management System, today’s leading runway friction measuring and reporting platform, complies with the aircraft braking measurement standard recently released by ASTM International, formerly known as the American Society for Testing and Materials.

The new ASTM International Standard E3266 for Friction-Limited Aircraft Braking Measurements and Reporting, published in November 2020, applies to systems that measure and report on braking forces and runway friction. This standard applies to any automated system that uses data from an aircraft to create what ASTM International calls an Aircraft Braking Action Report. According to ASTM International, any such system may be installed on an aircraft or operated remotely.

“With ASTM International Standard E3266, the aviation world now has a definitive international standard that provides objective measuring and quantifying of the actual landing risk on wet or contaminated runway surfaces experienced by commercial aircraft,” said Joe Vickers, CEO of AST. “This important advance brings not only significant safety benefits but improved operational efficiency and runway maintenance. The new standard embodies the march of progress as we evolve from subjective assessments of runway conditions to objective, science-based measurements. We’re proud that our SafeLand™ system, which currently measures and reports on real-time data from more than 2,000 commercial aircraft wherever they land, complies with this new standard.”

The AST SafeLand™ system provides aircraft operators, airports, and regulatory bodies with live information about wheel braking coefficients based on actual braking data from previously-landed aircraft. SafeLand’s Braking Action Reports deliver real-time insight into runway conditions based on data collected from aircraft-based sensors. The aircraft sensors allow measurement of the precise braking action of landing aircraft based on surface conditions and the impact of contaminants such as water, ice, or snow. These real-time reports can be made instantly available to incoming aircraft, ground personnel, airport operations, and authorities. Using this information, pilots can improve their landing decisions while airports can improve their surface management strategies. The bottom line is enhanced safety, more efficient operations, higher runway uptime, and more reliable flight schedules for passengers.

“What are the actual runway surface conditions? What is the measured braking action? Making this information available to an incoming pilot increases safety beyond conventional subjective assessments,” said Vickers. “AST provides data-based reports based on previous landings to help approaching pilots make better safety-related decisions and airport personnel optimize runway maintenance and uptime. This is hugely valuable insight.”

Other updates regarding the new ASTM International standard include:

• Transport Canada will be the first aviation body to officially recognize ASTM International’s aircraft braking measurement standard (E3266) in their Advisory Circulars on Air Operators and Braking Action Reporting. The draft document is finished and is under comments. It is scheduled for release in 2021.

• FAA is exploring methodologies to confirm compliance, clearing the path to operationalize the application of the ASTM International standard.

• Major commercial carriers continue to broaden their adoption of the ASTM International-compliant SafeLand™ system, with approximately 300 additional aircraft being added to the AST ecosystem during the upcoming winter season.

About Aviation Safety Technologies

— Thore Schölermann

SIDNEY, MONTANA, UNITED STATES, December 2, 2020 / — Le chanteur country américain Doug Adkins gratifie the Voice of Germany 2020 de son talent!

For instance, in November 2018, a US-based ship building company, Huntington Ingalls Industries and 3D Systems collaborated to develop additive manufacturing technologies to facilitate the adoption of metal 3D printing in the ship building industry.

The global ship building market size is expected to decline from $162.52 billion in 2019 to $150.42 billion in 2020 at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of -7.44%. The decline is mainly due to the COVID-19 outbreak that has led to restrictive containment measures involving social distancing, remote working, and the closure of industries and other commercial activities resulting in operational challenges. The entire supply chain has been disrupted, impacting the market negatively. The shipbuilding market growth is then expected to recover and reach $161.83 billion in 2023 at a CAGR of 2.47%.The countries covered in the global shipbuilding market share are Australia, Brazil, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Japan, Russia, South Korea, UK, USA.

A factor of the growth in the forecast period is the increasing seaborne trade. The rising population, surging purchasing power of consumers, and improving standards of living are increasing the demand for consumer goods leading to high production and rapid industrialization. According to the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), international seaborne trade volume increased from 10.7 billion tons in 2017 to 11.0 billion tons in 2018 and is projected to expand at an average annual growth rate of 3.5% during 2019-2024. The manufacturing of eco-friendly and advanced ships is supported by the increasing requirement for efficient and cost-effective transport alternatives for the movement of goods. According to Alliance Experts, transport by sea allows shipping large volumes with lesser cost than that through road, rail, and air transport. This scenario is expected to drive the demand for the ship building market.

Edge Communications and Unified Evolution Team Up to Promote Hospitality IT Talent

Promoting hospitality IT talent

A Pandemic Silver Lining: Edge Communications and Unified Evolution have teamed up to leverage their industry leadership roles to promote hospitality IT talent.

PLANO, TX, UNITED STATES, December 1, 2020 / — As 2020 comes to a close, the hospitality industry continues to be affected by low occupancy rates, forcing temporary and permanent hotel shutdowns and resulting in an unprecedented loss of jobs in the industry.

Edge Communications and Unified Evolution have teamed up to leverage their industry leadership roles to create a program focused on supporting and assisting hospitality IT specialists with finding employment during this difficult time. “E-unified” was born from an idea by an industry expert and lifer, Alex Ajdelsztajn. Alex has worked in the hospitality industry for over 19 years, holding different positions within Marriott International and currently serving as Chief Operating Officer at Unified Evolution. Regarding the e-unified concept, Alex said; “Having been personally impacted by furloughs earlier this year, I’m honored to know that we have, in some way, made a difference for these first 25 people who were placed in project assignments with a compensation plan that is reflective of the vast experience and talent they bring. I am proud of working together with Edge Communications in promoting these individuals’ professional skills, business acumen and for playing a small part on their journey moving forward.”

Edge approached Alex in his new role and asked for assistance with finding this type of personnel. The request triggered the idea and inception of e-unified, a place where hospitality technologists and potential employers can post opportunities for short or long term projects.

“It’s all done using LinkedIn, a platform everyone is familiar with,” said Marina Willis, VP of Strategic Accounts at Edge Communications. “The power of e-unified is in the collaboration that we managed to create with Unified Evolution where we communicate openly and effectively with candidates by posting potential employment opportunities. Hospitality is an industry that focuses on relationships. Our friends, colleagues and partners have all directly or indirectly been affected by the Industry changes in 2020. The creation of e-unified is a way for us to give back to an industry that has supported each of us independently.”

E-unified has now provided these individuals with over 2000 hours in project assignments.
