We wanted young readers to see that leadership isn't easy — every new responsibility creates difficult choices, emotional burdens, sacrifices, and risks.”

BROOMFIELD, CO, UNITED STATES, August 20, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- The Children's Book Review is excited to announce ORION FIRE STORM, a new chapter in the Dragon and Dinosaur Chronicles following STAR LIFE KEEPERS, by Author Rick Williams Sr., written in collaboration with his grandsons, Caleb and Brady Williams.

When cousins Jason, Amanda, and Elisa travel back in time to prevent harm to their loved ones, they find themselves in a medieval land. They must team up with elves and shape-shifting dragons to fight against invading dinosaurs, dark magic, and humanized creatures. During their adventures, the teenagers discover the power of family, friendship, teamwork, and positivity — while also learning valuable STEM lessons.

"ORION FIRE STORM is an exciting, adventurous read for young readers," said Williams Sr. "And it incorporates real STEM topics like astronomy, paleontology, and biotechnology."

Williams Sr. began the series with his oldest grandson, Brady, who helped brainstorm the concept and co-write the first book, STAR LIFE KEEPERS. When Brady saw his grandfather's traditionally published military history books, he decided they should create an epic fantasy novel for young readers together. For ORION FIRE STORM, Rick's grandson Caleb joined the project, helping bring the second installment to life.

Drawing inspiration from a trip to the Morehead Planetarium and Science Center and Williams Sr.'s studies in China on the armillary sphere and celestial globe, the pair invented the story's "Star Globe" and magical astronomy rings to transport the Blakeslee cousins to Bukania, a medieval world of archers, knights, dragons, and dinosaurs. In this world, the cousins discover new responsibilities and learn valuable leadership lessons.

"There are many ways to time-travel. In Dragon and Dinosaur Chronicles, Jason, Amanda, and Elisa face traitors and power struggles, both externally and within the government," continued Williams Sr. "They discover that every new responsibility creates more difficult choices, emotional burdens, sacrifices, and risks."

Williams Sr. is a former biotech CEO who draws from his science and technology career to incorporate STEM into his family books. The Williams family launched Legacy KidLit Press, an independent publishing company that collaborates with illustrators, mapmakers, and designers from around the world to create entertaining and educational book projects, as well as The Storymaking Hub's Creative Writing Lab, where kids can explore ideas, create stories, and share them with confidence.

Hot on the heels of ORION FIRE STORM, the family is already at work on book three, YOUNG DRAGONRIDERS, co-written with Rick's granddaughter Mia Johnson — continuing the series' tradition of bringing a new generation of the family into the storytelling.

ORION FIRE STORM is available everywhere books are sold. For more information, including future release updates, please visit the author's website.
