Walton County, FL, 08/31/26 – Walton County Public Works is pleased to share the latest updates on ongoing infrastructure projects throughout the county. Here are the latest highlights from these important efforts.
All activities are weather dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Drivers are reminded to use caution when traveling through a work zone and to watch for construction workers and equipment entering and exiting the roadway.
E. PRIMROSE AVENUE DIRT TO PAVE
Project Improvements:
• Paving 0.35 miles extending from Walden Road to Clearwater Drive
• Pavement striping
• Sod installation
Current Status:
• Construction (stabilizing road base)
Traffic Impacts:
Intermittent shoulder and lane closures are anticipated throughout the duration of the project.
ORANGE BLOSSOM AVENUE (EAST AND WEST) DIRT TO PAVE
Project Improvements:
• Paving 0.26 miles extending from Brookside Drive to the end of maintenance
• Pavement striping
Current Status:
• Construction (stabilizing road base)
• Drainage completed
• Finishing the installation of sod this week
Traffic Impacts:
Intermittent shoulder and lane closures are anticipated throughout the duration of the project.
POINSETTA AVENUE (EAST AND WEST) DIRT TO PAVE
Project Improvements:
• Paving 0.32 miles extending from Walden Road to the end of maintenance
• Pavement striping
• Sod installation
Current Status:
• Construction (stabilizing road base)
• Drainage Improvements-drainage inlets installed
• Installation of sod
Traffic Impacts:
Intermittent shoulder and lane closures are anticipated throughout the duration of the project.
13th STREET DIRT-TO-PAVE AND DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS
Project Improvements:
• Paving 0.64 miles extending from Churchill Bayou Road to the end of maintenance
• Pavement Striping
Current Status:
• Under Construction (stabilization)
• Drainage Improvements ongoing
Traffic Impacts: Intermittent shoulder and lane closures are anticipated throughout the duration of the project.
SOUTHBOUND RIGHT TURN LANE ON OLD FERRY ROAD
Project Improvements:
• Construction of a southbound right turn lane at the intersection of Old Ferry Road and US 98.
Current Status:
• Construction
Traffic Impacts: Intermittent shoulder and lane closures are anticipated throughout the duration of the project
FOUR MILE ROAD OVERLAY
Project Improvements:
• The overlay operation will commence on Four Mile Road extending from the intersection of E. Bay Loop to SR 20 for approximately 1.12 miles.
Current Status:
• Construction (asphalt overlay)
Traffic Impacts: Intermittent shoulder and lane closures are anticipated throughout the duration of the project
CASWELL BRANCH ROAD OVERLAY
Project Improvements:
• The overlay operation will commence on Caswell Branch Road extending from the intersection of Four Mile Road and will proceed for approximately 0.19 miles.
Current Status:
• Construction (asphalt overlay)
Traffic Impacts: Intermittent shoulder and lane closures are anticipated throughout the duration of the project
ADDITIONAL PROJECTS
• Lake Drive- Working on the multi-use path, repairing culvert headwalls and ditch maintenance
• W Harborview Road -Construction of a new sidewalk
• Paxton Senior Center - Asphalt paving parking lot and striping
• Hatcher Cemetery Road - Installation of drainage pipe
• Hinote Road and CR 1883 - striping
