Eastern Aesthetics and Dreamlike Landscapes: Huangshan Unveils a Four-Day Cinematic Journey for South Korean Travelers

HUANGSHAN, China, Oct. 05, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Huangshan, a city in Anhui province, has introduced a four-day, three-night independent travel itinerary for South Korean visitors. The route, themed “A Film of Your Life: Eastern Aesthetics and Dreamlike Landscapes,” links Huangshan’s mountain scenery with the historic villages and cultural traditions of Huizhou.

The city has an airport and high-speed rail connections. Huangshan is approximately 1.5 hours from Hangzhou and 2.5 hours from Shanghai by high-speed train. Charter flights from South Korea are planned for October 2026: the Incheon–Huangshan route is scheduled to operate on Wednesdays and Saturdays from October 14 to November 4, and the Busan–Huangshan route on Wednesdays and Saturdays from October 28 to November 28.

On the first day, travelers can explore Xixinan, known for its streams and old trees, before visiting Chengkan village in the evening, when fish-shaped lanterns illuminate its lanes. Day two takes visitors to the Huangshan Scenic Area. A cable car provides access to the mountain, where sights include the Welcoming Guest Pine, distinctive rock formations and, when conditions allow, a sea of clouds. An overnight stay at a mountaintop hotel leaves time for sunset, stargazing and sunrise the following morning.

After descending the mountain on day three, the route continues to Taiping Lake for activities including jet skiing, parasailing, paddleboarding and kayaking. In the evening, visitors can walk through Tunxi Old Street, He Street and Liyang IN Lane, then see Huixiu, a large-scale stage production drawing on the stories of Huizhou merchants, Cheng–Zhu Neo-Confucian thought and local folk culture.

The final day includes Hongcun, a UNESCO World Heritage village, and the quieter village of Bishan. Stops at Hongcun’s South Lake and Moon Pond, followed by a visit to Bishan Bookstore, offer a slower-paced introduction to everyday life in Huizhou.

The four-day route is intended as a flexible guide. Travelers can adjust the schedule to suit their interests and travel plans.
